About the job:
The ideal candidate is a highly creative Graphic Designer with a great sense of style for a missy and young contemporary knitwear company. You will play a key role in developing innovative and trend graphics and prints for the ladies market. We are looking for a team player who will be able to work both independently and collaboratively. This role is based in NY offering a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Create graphics and prints for knitwear.
- Prepare layouts or mock-ups of designs using illustration, text, photography, color, and computer-generated imagery.
- Communicate with design and sales about color assortment and design direction.
- Research seasonal graphic trends and apply to illustrations in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Prepare graphics for production including repeat recoloring and technique.
- Revise any graphics as needed based on feedback from sales and design.
- Review all technical sketches and original artworks prior to submission for final production.
- Prepare artwork for production.
- Execute vision on CAD presentations.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in graphic fashion design.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Prior experience in women’s apparel.
- Strong sense of design and color.
- Highly motivated, passionate about fashion, and has a commercial eye for detail.
- Experience with licensed brands and interpreting brand style guides for product extensions.
- Strong creativity, conceptualization, execution, organization, and design skills.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to problem solve.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to strategize and prioritize team workloads to ensure competing deliverables are met according to the seasonal calendar.
