Job Overview: Our client is seeking a talented Graphic Designer on a contingent/contract basis to support our Learning & Development team.
The ideal resource will create visually compelling print and digital materials that enhance learning experiences, simplify complex information, and maintain brand consistency across L&D initiatives.
This role requires a balance of creative vision and technical execution to transform instructional content into engaging visual assets.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development Create professional and visually appealing learning materials, including presentations, training manuals, job aids, eLearning assets, and infographics
Translate complex concepts and information into clear visual narratives and illustrations
Apply and maintain brand guidelines and visual identity standards across all L&D materials
Design custom icons, diagrams, and visual elements to support learning objectives
Prepare files for various delivery methods (print, digital, presentation)
Content Enhancement: Transform text-heavy content into visually engaging learning experiences
Develop infographics and data visualizations to clarify complex information
Create consistent visual systems for different learning programs and modules
Design user-friendly layouts that improve information retention and accessibility
Collaboration & Communication: Partner with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and L&D stakeholders
Interpret design briefs and requirements to deliver appropriate visual solutions
Presenting design concepts and rationales to project teams
Incorporate feedback efficiently while maintaining design integrity
Document design decisions and asset specifications for future reference
Technical Excellence: Maintain proficiency with design software and production techniques
Optimize designs for various delivery platforms and file formats
Organize and maintain digital asset libraries for efficient reuse
Stay current with design trends and best practices in learning experience design
Required Qualifications:
Experience 3+ years of graphic design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills
Prior experience with learning materials, instructional design, or corporate training preferred
Demonstrated ability to work within established brand guidelines
Experience designing for both print and digital formats
Background in information design and/or data visualization is highly desirable
Technical Skills: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop)
Strong Microsoft PowerPoint design skills for creating editable templates
Working knowledge of basic animation principles for digital learning
Understanding of accessibility standards in visual design
Familiarity with digital learning platforms a plus
Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Relevant certifications (e.g., Adobe Certified Expert) are a plus

Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design
Meticulous attention to detail and quality control
Adaptability to feedback and changing project requirements
Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

Deliverables:
The graphic designer will be responsible for creating: Training manuals and workbooks (PDF format)
PowerPoint presentation templates and slide decks
Visual job aids and quick reference guides
eLearning module graphics and interface elements
Infographics and data visualizations
Custom icons and illustrations
Technical Specifications: All deliverables must adhere to company brand guidelines
Digital assets should be provided in appropriate file formats: Print materials: High-resolution PDFs (300 dpi minimum)
PowerPoint files: Editable PPTX format with style guides
Web/digital graphics: PNG/JPEG files optimized for digital delivery
Vector graphics: Original AI or EPS files with editable elements
All designs must meet accessibility standards where applicable
Project Parameters: Contract basis with potential for ongoing work
Remote work is possible with occasional onsite meetings as needed
Project hours and timeline will vary based on specific L&D initiatives
Portfolio review and sample project evaluation will be part of the selection process
