The South Brunswick Library, located halfway between the metropolitan hubs of NYC and Philadelphia, is home to a diverse, growing community that values all the services the Library provides. Our staff is dedicated to providing excellent customer service through innovative programming, community engagement and outreach, and our Mobile Branch.

Our Library is nearing completion of a multi-million construction project to expand and repurpose our existing building. We are excited to bring new team members aboard as we build our next chapter at the South Brunswick Public Library. Renovations will include a new auditorium, state-of-the art meeting room, an expanded Teen Room, group study rooms, an instruction lab and more.

The South Brunswick Public Library is seeking a Graphic Artist to work 15 hours/week with our marketing/programming staff.The schedule for this position is primarily weekday hours with an occasional weekend/evening shift to attend special Library events. The ideal candidate should be creative, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively. This individual will work to promote the Library’s many programs and events through attractive designs and engaging content, both print and digital.

Key Responsibilities:

● Develop visually appealing designs for digital and print media, including social media graphics, banners, flyers, brochures, signage and billboards.

● Design and layout the Library’s newsletter in collaboration with marketing staff

● Work closely with other marketing/content staff to ensure brand consistency across all platforms

● Assist with photography and content creation when needed

● Assist with proofreading of content for Library newsletter

● Stay updated in design trends to create fresh and modern visuals

● Follow our established Visual and Writing Style Guide, recommending updates as needed

Qualifications:

● Sound understanding of both print and digital design principles

● A college degree in Graphic Arts, Design, or a related field

● Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat), as well as other widely used graphic design programs

● A portfolio showcasing your range and creativity

● Must pass a criminal background check

● Wordpress experience preferred

Hourly rate begins at $20.25 hour.
