Overview
The Senior Content Strategist on the Storybuilding team brings brands to life in physical spaces through media and interactive experiences. You will own the discovery process and find the heart of every project—then use that insight to craft tangible expressions of brand that move people to act. Balancing your time across multiple simultaneous projects, you will lead the content strategy track of work through all phases of design, while collaborating closely with a multi-disciplinary team.
Regular activities involve planning, designing, and executing content strategies for large-scale spaces and individual installations to meet client business objectives and audience needs.
About the Experiential, Storybuilding Team
Storybuilders create immersive experiences in physical spaces: destinations for humans to engage with ideas and brands in uniquely memorable ways using content, design, and interactive technology. The environments in which our work lives include innovation centers, brand experience centers, executive briefing centers (EBCs), museums, pop-up activations, and mobile venues.
Responsibilities
- Lead the discovery phase of projects, which entails desk research, stakeholder interviews, and client workshops
- Sift through large volumes of information and organize, prioritize, and synthesize to extract meaning and build a project’s storyline and journey map
- Use your deep knowledge of the client, their audience, and the craft of experiential storytelling to contribute to concept development during ideation sessions
- Put together presentation decks that clearly and compellingly communicate the experiential storyline and activation concepts, along with the thinking behind them
- Lead content planning to evaluate how existing content can best be utilized in a space and identify and develop any new content that must be created
- Write—or direct third parties in writing—compelling content (e.g., video scripts, interactive copy), with a particular emphasis on simplifying highly technical subject matters and bringing product benefits to life in immersive, illustrative ways
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in content strategy, content development, experiential marketing, interpretive planning, or a related field
- Excellent writing and content creation capabilities—with the portfolio to prove it (please be prepared to walk us through some of your work)
- Digital fluency, with solid foundational understanding of good UX design
- Balance of right-brain and left-brain thinking: a hyper-organized, detail-oriented individual with the ability to think systematically about content-planning AND an imaginative conceptual thinker who uses their creativity and storytelling skills to help clients solve their communications challenges in new ways
- Proactive problem-solving mindset; you are keen to dig in to solve sometimes nebulous experience design challenges and are resilient in handling client feedback or curve balls
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present to sometimes large teams of senior executives
- Ability to work Eastern time zone hours
- Willingness to travel, as needed (~ 10-25%)
