Job Description
The Gwinnett County Administrative Office of the Courts is seeking a Technology Librarian within the Law Library Division. The Homer M. Stark Law Library supports the research needs of the Gwinnett County Judicial Circuit, county employees, Bar Associations of Gwinnett County and litigants. The public may also use the library to conduct research. The library staff aid in finding appropriate materials and suggesting possible resources. The Technology Librarian will provide assistance and support consistent with these objectives.
- Engages in conversation with customers daily to identify the legal resources or library-sponsored program needed.
- Maintains all electronic equipment, particularly printing/copying stations and 10 public computers with Windows 11 and troubleshoots simple networking and connectivity issues; maintains supply of paper and ink; and makes service calls when necessary
- Trains customers on use of copy machines, printers, fax and other equipment.
- Assists in organization of the law library collection through Integrated Library System (LibraryWorld) and installs hardware/software on public computers.
- Assists in direct communication with publishing companies and vendors regarding inventory.
- Conducts cash and credit card transactions for library services; collects money from coin operated copiers and printers.
- Updates the Law Library website through html coding and WordPress platform.
- Acts as liaison to AOC and County IT staff and communicates major IT issues with the team.
- Works with the Library Director on departmental projects and initiatives as requested.
- Displays solid communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and receive work direction.
Job Description

The grade for this position is 100. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or library information studies or a related field AND
- Two years of experience as an Information Technology Technician, or comparable level
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
- Master’s degree in library and information services AND
- Two years of experience in a legal setting
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
- Prior experience in library application of technology/AI tools and innovation
- Prior experience in using print and electronic legal resources such as Lexis and Westlaw, etc.
- Have basic knowledge of principles and practices of legal research
