Job Description
Curious Media is seeking a new Game Developer to join the team. A well-qualified candidate will be someone who likes to push the limits of what can be done with animation, interactivity, and sound design in a cross-platform (desktop, mobile, tablet) environment using both HTML5 and Unity technologies primarily.
Responsibilities
- Providing game maintenance and enhancements across Unity and HTML5 projects.
- Working closely with the creative design team to create games using Unity and HTML5.
- Creating quality mock-ups and prototypes on tight timelines.
- Maintaining graphic standards and branding throughout the games’ interfaces.
- Staying up-to-date on emerging technologies in game development.
- Promoting usability best practices.
- Building interactive and compelling games using Unity for mobile and desktop, and HTML5 for web.
- Creating games that run seamlessly on Desktop, Tablet, and Phone.
- Writing clean, readable, well-documented code in C# and JavaScript.
- Being involved in projects from brainstorm to delivery.
- Estimating time and effort in the project pitching phase.
Required Skills
- Extensive knowledge in Unity development (C#) and HTML5 canvas development (JavaScript).
- Working knowledge of game development engines (e.g., Unity, PixiJS, CreateJS) and the ability to quickly get up to speed with any engine.
- Ability to take a PSD/mock or concept and turn it into a working experience.
- Experience in creating exciting, highly interactive experiences on desktop, iPad, iPhone, and other mobile devices using Unity and HTML5.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven resourcefulness in troubleshooting complex problems.
- Extensive design and game development experience.
- Strong debugging and optimization abilities across platforms.
- Must be able to think critically and work in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills
- 3D Graphics experience a plus.
- Experience with PixiJS and CreateJS is a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).
- Portfolio or GitHub showcasing Unity and HTML5 work (required).
