Overview
The Graphic Designer and Production Specialist is responsible for the implementation of design solutions and production from concept to completion for the Agency under the supervision of the Senior Marketing Manager, in a wide range of graphic applications including print, digital, wearables, signage, and packaging. Under general supervision, the Graphic Designer and Production Specialist is responsible for bringing projects in within budget and on deadline, billing and coding, software and hardware systems management for Mac, and marketing file management.
The Graphic Designer and Production Specialist presents approved visual solutions in alignment with Habitat for Humanity International’s Brand Guide to both internal departments and external sponsors to help communicate strategies and execution of strategies. Reports to the Senior Marketing Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
- Works with the Senior Marketing Manager to produce approved designs in alignment with Habitat International’s Brand Guide and coordinates the visual messaging, branding and communication pieces into campaigns and agency print and electronic collateral for a variety of instructional, promotional, development, and recruitment projects.
- Adheres to the marketing scheduling and tracks production of projects to ensure proper and timely completion of jobs; works with outside vendors to meet production deadlines.
- Uses a Mac computer and other applications for a variety of graphic design activities, including desktop publishing and layout, production, illustration, and prepress file preparation. Supports marketing Mac usage hardware and design software for marketing team.
- Responsible for print specifications, purchasing, approvals, budgets, and quality control.
- Maintains agency website functionality and security while coordinating with internal departments on content updates.
- Selects, purchases and produces agency collateral materials.
- Maintains accurate files and records.
- Orders and maintains inventory of logo merchandise, including apparel and giveaways and assists other departments with logo and branded merchandise.
- Manages all marketing assets from photography to electronic files.
- Ability to manipulate electronic files, fonts, and keeps all systems compatible throughout the workflow

Specific Job Descriptors
- Manage projects after approval from Senior Marketing Manager;
- Manage production traffic on day-to-day basis on all jobs and tracks jobs;
- Develop creative on quick turn jobs;
- Collaborates with Senior Marketing Manager on creative for overall vision pieces and marketing needs;
- Update and keep current all marketing materials and inventory them;
- Support technical needs for Mac based solutions and other marketing platforms;
- Manage/update Emma templates, company logos and established marketing collateral through Shared Services, and train on their appropriate usage while conducting a periodic utilization review
- Responsible for producing build season signage, homeowner dedication brochures, and montages;
- Construct and maintain agency library to include but not limited to: approved art and photos;
- Work with the Senior Marketing Manager on establishing and publishing agency graphic standards and style sheet;
- Utilize the Shared Services model and Sharepoint for archiving templates and guidelines
- Maintains an electronic filing system that shares essential documents between in-house servers and Sharepoint so that both the Senior Marketing Manager, SVP of Public Affairs and Communication and in-house staff have access to documents being worked on in marketing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Creates and produces marketing materials in alignment with agency brand, on time and within budget
- Manages purchase of all branded merchandise and marketing materials
- Provides marketing technical support and systems knowledge for print and online collateral
- Maintains agency website and website security
- Support signage installation at the build site and at events
- Regular and reliable attendance required
Education And Skills
Bachelors degree in graphic design strongly preferred.
3-5 years working experience as either a Lead Graphic Designer or Senior Designer. Alternate career experience will be considered upon evaluation of portfolio.
Must be highly proficient with current versions of Adobe Creative Suites and familiar with a wide range of other design, website creation and maintenance, social media, and multimedia software and application.

Knowledge of:
Advanced experience and knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of digital art, graphic design, layout and illustration; usage of typefaces, operation of personal computer and current graphics software programs; principles and techniques of typesetting, color theory digital printing, photography; printing processes (including four color process), various types of ink, paper stock, and other supplies used, their characteristics, uses and limitations; electronic desktop publishing equipment and techniques (such as form design and layout techniques).
TIME REQUIREMENTS:
40+ hours per week, with frequent attendance at the build site and agency events and gatherings.
