TBDGeneral Description:SUNY Niagara has a need for a part-time Music Instructor for our Audition Prep course. This course is taught in person in a classroom setting on our Sanborn, NY campus. Music majors preparing for transfer are faced with the daunting task of preparing for an audition. This course will investigate the issues of performance and will focus on audition material and presentation skills for successful placement into academic or professional venues. Students will refine repertoire appropriate for their instrument and use recordings, video, and reflection to make improvements to their repertoire. This course is designed to teach auditioning skills for those students auditioning for music or musical theatre departments at four-year universities. Usually offered Fall semester.Remuneration for persons teaching at least 3 credits in a semester: $915 per lecture hour/$819 per lab hour.Typical Work Activities:Teach course on campus.Track attendance as needed.Report on student learning outcomes at the end of the semester.Report grades at the conclusion of the semester.Essential Functions:Ability to work with, and teach a diverse student population. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, supervisors, and the campus community. Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information. Must be able to operate computers.
