You will balance multiple parts of a project simultaneously and successfully bring them all together on deadline. Responsibilities:
Washington News Bureau producers are responsible for planning daily coverage, communicating plans to stations and producers, booking and coordinating the technical aspects of multiple daily live shots, producing elements for reporters, writing and copy-editing content, seeking and incorporating enterprise content elements from our data team and other national teams, and managing custom requested content for stations. This job brings together the best of multi-platform content creation, tech and production skills, and managing logistics. In-person attendance required.
Qualifications:
You have at least 1-2 years of experience in a local TV newsroom, DC bureau, or a strong college news operation, and you possess a strong passion for journalism. A successful candidate understands how local newsrooms operate each day, the basics of newscast production, how to quickly respond to breaking news, and can effectively communicate updates and content concerns. This role requires fast decision-making, working consistently with reporters and photographers, organization skills, reliability, and the ability to manage the stress and expectations of a working newsroom. Experience with political reporting or coverage is a plus but not required.
Salary Statement:
The estimated salary range for this role is $65,000 - $68,000. The actual salary offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, and other factors permitted by law. The salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
