Position Overview:

The Axel Group is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Design Manager to join our client's dynamic team. The Design Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design processes and ensuring the successful execution of architectural and interior design elements for residential homes. This role requires a keen eye for design, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality homes that align with the company’s standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Development & Oversight: Manage the design team, ensuring that designers are adhering to internal processes, following the established script, completing reports, and maintaining clear communication with executives. Provide coaching, monitor day-to-day operations, and hold team members accountable for meeting expectations. Guide and mentor team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and according to standards.
• Design Leadership: Lead the design team in conceptualizing and developing design solutions for residential home models, focusing on architectural aesthetics, functionality, and market appeal.
• Project Management: Oversee multiple design projects from initial concept to final implementation, ensuring design quality, adherence to timelines, and alignment with Kolter Homes’ brand.
• Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, construction teams, and sales teams to ensure smooth integration of design elements into each project.
• Client Communication: Engage with homebuyers to understand their design preferences, translating their ideas into actionable design concepts. Provide guidance on design options, material choices, and home customization.
• Market Research: Stay current with design trends and emerging technologies to keep Kolter Homes at the forefront of innovative design and meet evolving consumer preferences.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all homes meet Kolter Homes’ design standards and deliver a superior customer experience.
• Studio Operations: Oversee the operations of the design studio, ensuring an organized, efficient, and productive environment. Monitor workflow, ensure deadlines are met, and handle any necessary adjustments to optimize performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in residential design, architecture, or a related field, with a proven track record of managing design projects from concept to completion.
• Strong knowledge of design principles, construction practices, and building codes.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to balance creative design vision with budget constraints and project timelines.
• A passion for residential architecture and interior design, with an understanding of market trends and client needs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
