The Libraries Information Technology section is seeking a highly talented Senior Analyst to provide hardware, software and network support for Libraries systems and network infrastructure.
The purpose of this position is to provide hands-on technical support in a multi-platform and geographically dispersed environment. This position is responsible for infrastructure management, support, and troubleshooting, as well as supporting hardware, software, networking and third-party products. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and VMWare is required. Candidates for this position must agree to work flexible hours and weekend shifts.
Responsibilities
- User Account Management: Granting and managing user access to network resources following the principle of least privilege.
- Cloud Environment Support: Providing technical support for resources hosted in our cloud environments.
- Security Vulnerability Remediation: Working with the team to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
- On-Call Support: Participating in the on-call rotation to provide support for changes approved by the change control process.
- Printer Server Management: Managing and maintaining the organization's print servers.
- DHCP Management: Processing and supporting new DHCP reservation requests.
- Virtual Infrastructure Management: Plans and implements upgrades to the virtual infrastructure.
- Technical Support: Troubleshoots and resolves computer problems including analyzing, diagnosing, and fixing problems.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Completes projects as needed and assigned by the Supervisor.
- System Design Analysis: Analyzes systems designs, develops efficiencies of current technology.
- Hardware and Software Configuration: Installs, configures, and supports server software.
- Continuous Education: Performing technical research and development to enable continuing innovation.
- Related Work: Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a two (2) year degree from an accredited trade, technical or vocational school, college or university with major coursework in computer science or closely related field. (One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)
Requires four (4) years in supporting users and analyzing computer systems or closely related experience.
Preferences
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in relevant field
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- 4 years' experience supporting virtual servers in a VMware ESX environment
- 4 years' experience supporting Server or Cloud Technologies
- 4 years of hands-on experience supporting public library specific solutions
- 4 years' experience supporting unified endpoint management or mobile device management solutions
General Description
Performs advanced professional, technical and analytical work with administrative responsibility in automation systems implementation and development.
Works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides design, procurement, implementation, and administration of the network infrastructure.
Analyzes, diagnoses, and rectifies issues related to server and/or desktop/laptop computer problems.
Completes ad-hoc projects based on end user and Information Technology (IT) analyst needs.
Performs change control tasks, including implementing and updating web applications.
Performs analyses of systems designs, develops applications, and documents work flow and processes.
Provides help desk support; responds to calls, emails, incident tickets, and/or inquiries from computer/network users.
Provides systems administration for servers, patch installation and upgrade maintenance.
This position may require localized travel throughout Broward County for the purposes of field services.
