Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in design and engineering principles, with proficiency in various design software. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative designs that meet project specifications and client needs.
Duties
- Provide design or drawing assistance for routine and moderately complex projects during the development and as-built stages of the engineered drawings.
- Obtain electronic plans from engineers/architects/owners and other trades.
- Obtain project design information as required from vendors, insurance carriers, owners, and consultants. Obtains and facilitates all project permits.
- Research and build piping appurtenances.
- Create engineered drawings (AutoCAD, Revit etc.).
- Prepare record drawings and O&M manuals according to project requirements.
- Import and create plumbing groups.
- Review scope, defined product specifications, application and requirements for code compliance and all other requirements.
- Setup Navis models and run initial visuals to determine approach to mains and branches.
- Run and present clash detections.
- Create and upload Hilti points, shop drawings, and spool drawings.
- Participate in internal design review meetings as coordinated by the Project Managers, visit jobsites for coordination of service and attend project coordination meetings.
- Provides operational support for the sales phase of projects when needed.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Requirements
Three (3) plus years of experience in plumbing design including waste and vent systems, supply systems, roof drain calculations and design, equipment and fixture selection, shop drawing review, assessment of existing systems and facilities, and field observation and reporting.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD and/or Revit) is required.
- Field experience in plumbing or pipefitting trades is strongly preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of building codes.
- Knowledge of piping and plumbing construction methods.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills to articulate design ideas clearly to team members and clients.
- A degree in Design, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
