The KTIS Engagement Specialist will serve as a key ambassador for the 98.5 KTIS brand, working to increase community outreach, enhance relationships, and support the mission of KTIS. This role will involve promoting a positive image of KTIS to various stakeholders, including staff, donors, listeners, and the broader community. The representative will actively participate in community activities, execute promotional events, and collaborate with the Engagement team to drive initiatives that connect with listeners and fulfill the station’s mission of spreading God’s love.
What will I do in this position?
Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Represent KTIS positively to staff, donors, listeners, and partners; lead in-person promotion efforts and build relationships with local organizations to reach more listeners and engage the community.
- Assist with event booths, create promotional materials (signage, props, giveaways), and ensure a welcoming atmosphere at KTIS events. Manage social media and call-ins during events to engage listeners.
- Organize on-air promotions to support listener growth and lead people to Christ. Collaborate with the digital team to manage KTIS online promotions and content.
- Help recruit, train, and lead volunteers (KREW) and student employees for events and projects. Assign tasks and work with the Engagement team on joint tasks.
- Develop and manage community outreach projects that support local needs, working with individuals and organizations for maximum impact.
- Assist with designing promotional materials, including event graphics, KTIS merchandise, and digital content like newsletters and online requests.
- Maintain and update promotional documents, community requests (calendar, prayer requests, stickers), and other administrative tasks.

What will it take to succeed in this position?
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
- Internship and/or work experience in promotions, marketing, or customer relations preferred.
Continually nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; serve as a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, doctrinal statement, and Declaration of Christian Community.
The work environment
The work environment involves working for a suburban, Christian-owned and operated radio station alongside those with a demonstrated commitment and personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission and values of Northwestern and an agreement to abide by all Northwestern policies.
What are the benefits of working at Northwestern?
Compensation Range: $18.90 – $21.00. This temporary position is not eligible for benefits.
