Our client is a Motorola Solutions Service Elite Specialist, Motorola Solutions Manufacturer Representative Specialist, and Certified Service Center currently seeking a Radio Technician based in their Rochester, NY headquarters location.
They consist of highly experienced professionals who design, install, and maintain public safety communication networks and equipment. We offer exceptional quality emergency communications infrastructure and system support services.
The ideal candidate for this position should have RF Communications technical skills in the 911/Public Safety Communications sector with exposure to mission-critical communications equipment and peripheral hardware installation of base stations, repeaters, mobile devices, and/or portable devices.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Install, optimize, maintain, repair, test, and program Public Safety Two Way Radio Systems at the customer site and/or our facility.
- Work with customers to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve Public Safety communication equipment issues.
- Ensure proper operation and configuration of customer Two Way Radio Systems.
- Analyze and comprehend diagnostic test results.
- Serve as on-call technician as needed; receive system issue notifications from Motorola Solutions and initiate triage process.
- Install, program, upgrade, tune Motorola Mobiles and Portables.
- Other duties as needed.
- Some travel and on-call are required.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in operating various test equipment including but not limited to spectrum analyzers, system analyzers, watt meters, and multi-meters.
- Conventional RF site optimization and PM skills.
- Proficiency with CPS Motorola Subscriber Programming.
- Proficiency with CSS for Motorola G-Series Equipment.
- Experience with TNCT and NCR repositories in Motorola P25 systems.
- NMD and CSUB architecture understanding.
- Experience with Networking and sub-networking architectures.
- Understanding Firewall NAT and VIP policy in Juniper and FortiGate appliances.
- NOKIA SAR configuration and programming.
- Building and maintaining customer relationships.
- Excellent verbal/written communication.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Motivated and flexible.
- Professional attitude and appearance.
- Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures such as R56 and CSC operational requirements.
- OSHA10 certification or ability to obtain.
- Extensive interaction with team members including owners, customer organizations, and Motorola Solutions.
- Motorola Solutions Certifications (R56, P25 Technical and Sales, etc.).
- Experience with mobile, portable radio equipment, dispatch consoles, and microwave systems.
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology or related field is a plus.
- Must possess a clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
