Overview
The State Journal-Register, an award-winning daily news organization in Illinois' state capital, is seeking to fill several reporting openings, including the city of Springfield beat.
If you're a reporter who loves to write enterprise pieces and pursue watchdog journalism, and if you embrace the idea of alternative story approaches that grab the attention of online readers, then this is the newsroom you want to be in.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is a strong writer and a curious reporter who recognizes the urgency of online journalism. The candidate must be comfortable with social media and using online tools.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a college degree.
- Good knowledge of AP style.
- At least one year's professional experience is preferred, but recent graduates with significant college experience and internships will be considered.
- Some positions may require night/weekend shifts.
