ROLE IS HYBRID ONSITE IN THE GREATER SEATTLE AREA, WA
$45.99-$47.36/hr - $8,094-$8,335/month COMPENSATION RATE (depending on experience)

THE CLIENT
Our client is a large technology company based in the Greater Seattle Area. They develop software, services, products, and hardware devices.
TECHNICAL WRITER 2
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with software engineers and other technical team members to gather information and develop clear and concise troubleshooting guides.
- Create and maintain various self-service documentation, including FAQs, how-to guides, and knowledge base articles.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with company standards and best practices.
- Review and edit existing documentation to enhance clarity, consistency, and overall quality.
- Work closely with the support team to identify common issues and create documentation to address these problems proactively.
- Use technical knowledge to translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable content for various audiences.
- Conduct research and interviews to gather information from subject matter experts.
- Participate in peer reviews and provide constructive feedback to colleagues.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements to continuously improve documentation quality.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Top 3 Skills:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with Markdown
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with Excel
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with Word
Years of Experience: 2-4 years of experience required for the role.
Qualifications: Looking for a technical writer that can work closely with engineers, or review transcripts of conversations with engineers, and convert those to troubleshooting guides or other relevant knowledge base articles.
- 2-4 years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a software development environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and software, such as Microsoft Word, Confluence, and Markdown editors.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of programming languages and software engineering concepts.
- Experience creating multimedia content, such as video tutorials or infographics.
- Prior experience in developing documentation for customer support teams.
Degree/Certs: Bachelor’s degree required, a Master degree in technical communication is preferred.
Disqualifiers: Candidates with lack of experience in the tech industry will not be eligible for the role.
Best: The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience working with software engineers to develop comprehensive troubleshooting guides and other self-service documentation. This role is crucial in aiding new engineers and support personnel to efficiently understand and address technical issues.
PI: Feedback from team & Sponsor. Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines, quality of work, feedback from the team.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Start & End: 3/3/2025 – 6/30/2025.
Schedule: M-F, 40 hrs a week, no OT expected.
Typical Tasks: The role will consist of 30% collaborating with software engineers and other technical team members, 30% ensuring all documentation is accurate up to date, 30% reviewing and editing existing documentation and then 10% meetings.
Interaction Level: High level of interaction with Team & Sponsor.
Work Environment: Redmond, WA. Role is hybrid onsite, mobile/shared workspace.
Flex Hours/Remote: Contractor will be required to work onsite 50% of the time.
Extension: Chance to extend.
