Position Details
- Location: Liliha Public Library, Honolulu, Oahu
- Salary: Library Assistant III: $3,093/month; Library Assistant IV: $3,220 to $4,078/month
- Shift: Rotating shifts including evenings and weekends
Responsibilities
- Perform clerical and library support work of moderate to complex level depending on the position (Level III or IV).
- Supervise and participate in library support activities, including circulation, cataloging, and processing materials.
- Assist library users, especially Chinese-speaking patrons, with inquiries and research.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Legal Authorization to Work: U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or eligible under federal law.
- Experience:
- Level III: 1 year of clerical work demonstrating knowledge of basic procedures.
- Level IV: 1 year of progressively responsible library support work involving bibliographic and classification knowledge.
- Language Skills: Fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin), and English, including Pinyin system.
