Description
Position Summary: This position is responsible for participating in the administration of the division’s records request process. The incumbent will receive daily requests for audio and CAD records from citizens and public safety agencies, utilizing audio and CAD technology systems to research requests and conduct analysis for certification. The incumbent must provide sworn testimony for civil and criminal judicial proceedings when ordered by a court of law and must be able to work independently under limited supervision. This position is on-call on a rotating basis and reports to the Admin Administrator.
Position Responsibilities
- Processes audio requests utilizing record management processes and software applications.
- Retrieves and researches data from logging equipment and computer programs to create certified records.
- Represents the agency in all courts of law, providing sworn testimony specific to audio and CAD records certification.
- Works with the Public Safety Communications Division to ensure technology is in operating order and communicates concerns and findings when applicable.
- Keeps up to date on the use of the division's CAD, radio, telephony systems, policies, procedures, and directives.
- Comprehends and interprets FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) laws.
- Maintains confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with two (2) years of previous dispatching experience.
- No criminal convictions, including misdemeanors, that would impede the ability to provide sworn testimony.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Understanding of recording techniques and equipment.
- Good listening and comprehension skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and complex departmental and public issues.
- Ability to work under strict time constraints.
- Effective communication skills with people at all levels.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field with two (2) years of previous dispatching experience.
- Understanding of recording techniques and equipment.
- Good listening and comprehension skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and complex departmental and public issues.
- Ability to work under strict time constraints.
- Effective communication skills with people at all levels.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
