This Research Team brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers to create the future of virtual and augmented reality, which will become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers today. AR and VR will change how we work, play, and connect, developing technologies such as optics and displays, computer vision, audio, graphics, brain-computer interfaces, haptic interaction, tracking, perception science, and telepresence.
The Research Audio team focuses on creating virtual sounds indistinguishable from reality and redefining human hearing, enabling connection and communication in challenging environments. We seek a contract UX Researcher to support research aiming to augment human capabilities and facilitate effortless communication in acoustically challenging settings.
Responsibilities :
The UX Researcher conducts research studies with human subjects, managing setup, implementation, data collection for in-person and remote studies. This senior role involves owning experimental design, conducting studies, analyzing data, and reporting findings and recommendations to research and product teams.
Skill Requirements :
- Industry experience with qualitative and quantitative research
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's or higher preferred, with coursework or lab experience in speech perception/production, psycholinguistics, hearing science, cognitive psychology, auditory neuroscience, social science, or related fields
- Experience with hardware products, preferably consumer electronics or wearable devices
- Human-subject research experience
- Data analysis and programming skills in R, Python, or SQL are a plus
