Job Description - FY26: Content Specialist, Technology, Argyle MS, 1.0 FTE (2500489)
Job Summary:
The Middle School Content Specialist is responsible for analyzing achievement data to improve instruction, supporting accelerated and enriched learning, and building a community of learners. The specialist works with teachers to implement instructional programs, observe teaching practices, and promote collaboration within departments and across teams. Certification in relevant content areas is required, with additional time and compensation provided for responsibilities related to Arts/PE specialties. Key Responsibilities: Lead the department and support the development of instructional strategies. Support the implementation of the instructional program through teacher observation and feedback. Collaborate with teachers within departments and across teams. Support the school's signature program, including managing the magnet department and working with the Magnet Coordinator. Teach four classes within an eight-period schedule. Participate in professional learning communities and instructional leadership teams. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of curriculum, assessment, instruction, and technology; excellent communication, facilitation, organizational, and supervisory skills; ability to analyze data and provide professional development. Qualifications:
Master's degree or equivalent; certification in content area; minimum of three years of outstanding teaching experience, including at least one year in MCPS; ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and administrators. Additional Information:
Salary range is $62,558 to $127,334 based on experience and education. The position includes required summer days with compensation. Attendance at school meetings and activities outside instructional hours is mandated.
