Job Description:
You’ll be a trusted advisor to our Business Development Team, Technical Subject Matter Experts, and Clients, as we look to you to identify, analyze, and implement solutions. You’ll provide technical writing support to pursue new business, document existing products/services, generate program deliverables, and provide documentation and support for various internal functions, processes, and accreditations/certifications.
Responsibilities:
- Under general direction, write technical copy for various types of reports, responses, and briefings to include White Papers, RFIs, RFPs, proposals, technical documentation, etc., targeted to a wide range of audiences.
- Prepare, review, edit, and maintain program and operations technical documents (e.g., Standard Operation Procedures (SOP)/Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), user guides/manuals, and technical documentation).
- Work with customers, internal development teams, and Subject Matter Experts to translate their functional requirements into detailed technical specifications and publications.
- Recommend and develop a variety of technical documentation based on client needs; Standardize documentation by creating and implementing templates for all document types.
- Organize and format documents (including layout and design) in compliance with applicable requirements.
- Maintain, update, and contribute to document libraries and knowledge management systems to enable ease of document storage, retrieval, updates, and reviews.
- Research highly technical subject matter, organize and consolidate information from multiple sources, and express technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers.
- Interpret, absorb, and synthesize large quantities of engineering or technical information for non-technical readers.
- Develop graphical representations of complex processes and collaborate with artists to develop technical illustrations.
- Perform reviews and assure the quality of all written deliverables in support of a wide range of customer requirements.
- Ensure the production of clear documents that guide and educate the reader, and apply expertise in client delivery process, tradecraft, and intelligence standards.
- Collaborate among varied teams of technical, administrative, teammate and/or customer personnel, and communicate effectively (e.g., internal team messaging, work assignments/instructions, schedules, etc.) to complete tasks.
- Participate in special projects, as required.
Required Skills:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- 5+ years of Technical Writing experience within the US Federal Government Intelligence Community.
- A Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- Must have some technical understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Cyber disciplines.
- Experience in production and/or editing of technical documents to include specific experience in writing for non-technical audiences.
- Fluid technical writing and editing skills, including the use of AP Style and/or government agency directed style guides.
- Experience with creating and maintaining government records associated with cybersecurity activities, documentation, and SOPs.
- Understand basic concepts and writing methodologies (to include basic grammar concepts) responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents for a program/project of similar complexity.
- Experienced user of the latest release of Microsoft Office (or equivalent) products to include MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication, risk-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of DoD requirements for manuals and written materials.
Desired Skills:
- Top Secret security clearance or higher.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $175,000
