Base Pay Range
$137,000.00/yr - $191,000.00/yr
About the Role
Join the pioneers of audio experiences at Meta. We are on a mission to revolutionize how people interact with technology through sound. As a Sound Designer, you'll shape the sonic landscape of products like Ray-Ban Meta and create immersive experiences that redefine human connection.
Define the future of audio and haptics. As a key member of our Creative Audio team, you'll design and deliver innovative User Interface/User Experience sounds for Meta’s products, including Wearables hardware and apps, creating intuitive and emotionally resonant experiences.
Collaborate with a talented team of creatives, engineers, and innovators passionate about pushing audio design frontiers, with a track record of iconic sonic experiences such as Meta Quest, Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses, Messenger, and Instagram.
Responsibilities
- Drive complex interaction sound design and haptics projects from discovery to completion.
- Create memorable sonic experiences for billions of Meta users.
- Translate broad concepts into actionable sound design deliverables.
- Create and maintain sound design systems, standards, and guidelines.
- Act as a source of truth for sound design standards and best practices.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for seamless system integration.
- Use data-driven insights to influence business decisions.
- Ensure product consistency and efficiency through quality and resource leverage.
- Develop and maintain a consistent sonic brand identity across Meta's touchpoints.
- Communicate effectively with technical teams to ensure proper sound implementation.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years creating UI sonic experiences for mobile, hardware, or immersive environments.
- Understanding of Design Systems and system-level thinking.
- Experience designing bespoke sounds for high-profile products.
- Proficiency in sound synthesis and Foley recording.
- Strong communication skills across stakeholders, with good time management.
- Proficiency in Pro Tools or similar DAWs.
- Understanding of human-centered design principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues systematically.
- Experience managing project milestones and deliverables.
- Knowledge of haptics design patterns and principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing UI/UX audio for AR and VR experiences.
- Experience with spatial audio and mixing in various formats.
- Creating audio for system-level software development.
- Video editing skills (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Avid, etc.).
- Understanding of programming and technical sound paradigms in immersive mediums.

Compensation
