We are currently seeking a Designer for our Houston studio. The Designer, working under the supervision of a Senior Designer or Project Manager, provides design support primarily in project administration, presentations, concept design through development, and contract documents.

Responsibilities:

• Develop architectural concepts for interior and exterior repositioning and adaptive projects.
• Create presentation and construction drawings.
• Draft technical drawings.
• Oversee all design and drawing for smaller projects.
• Review engineering and landscape drawings for compliance with design solutions.
• Research and select fixtures and finishes in collaboration with the Senior Designer.
• Develop preliminary concept plans for larger projects and finalize concepts for smaller projects.
• Review space plans and address complex issues with Intermediate Designer.
• Provide details for interior and architectural design projects.
• Develop and deliver design and furniture packages for interior and exterior projects.
• Assist in developing packages for larger projects.
• Obtain and produce cost estimates and manage design budgets.
• Mentor Junior and Intermediate Designers as needed.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 6+ years of experience in workplace design, focusing on building repositioning, adaptive reuse, and corporate interiors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of design principles, workplace trends, and aesthetics.
• Experience with repositioning and adaptive reuse projects.
• Strong presentation, space planning, and sketching skills.
• Knowledge of furnishings, finishes, and architecture detailing.
• Understanding of building systems, codes, and ADA requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
