Our team members are collaborative, creative, professional, expert, and entrepreneurial. Joining our team requires skill, daring, leadership, teaming, humor, and a love of Design. We are currently seeking a Designer for our Houston studio. The Designer, working under the supervision of a Senior Designer or Project Manager, provides design support primarily in project administration, presentations, concept design through development, and contract documents.
Responsibilities:
- Develop architectural concepts for interior and exterior repositioning and adaptive projects.
- Create presentation and construction drawings.
- Draft technical drawings.
- Oversee all design and drawing for smaller projects.
- Review engineering and landscape drawings for compliance with design solutions.
- Research and select fixtures and finishes in collaboration with the Senior Designer.
- Develop preliminary concept plans for larger projects and finalize concepts for smaller projects.
- Review space plans and address complex issues with Intermediate Designer.
- Provide details for interior and architectural design projects.
- Develop and deliver design and furniture packages for interior and exterior projects.
- Assist in developing packages for larger projects.
- Obtain and produce cost estimates and manage design budgets.
- Mentor Junior and Intermediate Designers as needed.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 6+ years of experience in workplace design, focusing on building repositioning, adaptive reuse, and corporate interiors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of design principles, workplace trends, and aesthetics.
- Experience with repositioning and adaptive reuse projects.
- Strong presentation, space planning, and sketching skills.
- Knowledge of furnishings, finishes, and architecture detailing.
- Understanding of building systems, codes, and ADA requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
