Job Summary:
The Stena Center for Financial Technology at the University of Utah unites education and industry to accelerate financial innovation and inclusion. Interdisciplinary at its core, the center develops and leads workshops, research, an annual conference, and other projects and programs for students, faculty, and industry partners. The center collaborates with university faculty to accelerate advances in fintech in the areas of research, commercialization, applied learning, and the incubation of new ideas and businesses.
To serve our important constituencies, the Stena Center is looking for a Marketing Manager to amplify the Stena Center’s brand and market position. The ideal candidate will have experience in a wide range of marketing functions, including communications, advertising, branding, digital, social media content and strategy, and event management. The marketing manager must be an organized multitasker, able to handle many diverse projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Help spread awareness of the Stena Center through consistent communications via social media content, blog posts, and email marketing campaigns.
- Lead the planning and execution of the Stena Center for Financial Technology’s annual industry conference.
- Lead the planning of industry trade shows and Stena Center events by identifying, coordinating, and assembling requirements, developing assignments and schedules, and following through on assigned tasks.
- Maintain and grow list of contacts through management of CRM system.
- Maintain inventory of Stena Center brand assets, ensuring all are current and accurate, and coordinate the creation of new materials when necessary.
- Prepare marketing activity reports and metrics for program success.
- Ensure marketing efforts serve immediate and long-term business goals by identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and lead generation.
- Additional tasks as assigned by Executive Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, advertising, or communications.
- 4-6 years experience working on marketing campaigns, developing content, event planning, and meeting expected timelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Superior communication and project management skills. Ability to manage several project timelines simultaneously.
Preferences:
Candidates who have a working knowledge of the Fintech industry across all disciplines, including, but not limited to embedded banking (Banking 3.0), lending, credit decisioning, SME management solutions, CryptoCurrency, NFTs, blockchain, payments, digital ID, and consumer management solutions, wealth tech, and insurtech are highly preferred. Candidates that have spent a significant portion of their career between core banking/financial services and the FinTech industry are also highly preferred.
