At Lars Remodeling & Design, we are expanding our interior design department and are currently accepting applications for a Junior Interior Designer to assist the Interior Designer in his/her daily duties of project design and development to include but not limited to product research, product selections, sourcing of materials, material costs, produce/revise ID Sets, selections library maintenance, data entry into Builder Trend, attending client meetings and assisting with client presentations. Qualifications Customer service experience. Creativity and imagination with an eye for design are a must. Basic knowledge of the industry. Willingness to work towards an intermediate knowledge of the industry. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is a must. Experience with Sketchup and Builder Trend a plus. Experience drafting finish interior selections plans to communicate design intent to trades. Strong communication skills and a team player attitude. Able to complete moderate tasks with no supervision and difficult tasks with limited supervision. Space planning and strong organizational skills. Job Responsibilities Prepare presentation materials with the direction of the project's Interior Designer. Maintain Outlook calendar along with team emails to keep up to date on all assigned projects. Maintain proficiency with the company's drafting and design software to create models and visuals including, but not limited to: CAD, Revit, Sketchup and Lumion. Attend periodic internal and client meetings with project Interior Designer and assist with all necessary tasks. Work with ID to prepare PowerPoint presentations and procure material samples. Work with Residential Designers to develop 3D rendering perspectives with sketch and material layouts as needed. Upon contract, create a blocked ID set of final design for 1st Selections meeting with client. Set up Builder Trend and update with final selections as the design develops. This includes all material selections, electrical fixtures and plumbing & appliance selections. Order all samples and materials needed for the project as the design develops. Order and track cabinet paint/stain samples. Finalize all details on the ID set of plans and complete a department review in a timely manner before client signing. Complete take-offs for tile, countertops, etc. as needed and request quotes from vendors for all allowance items. Coordinate with the Estimating/Purchasing department to keep orders and pricing ready for purchasing. Complete job binders. Job site visits include but are not limited to the following: electrical walk, tile walk, cabinet installation, misc. project check-ins during PM and client's weekly meetings.
