About the Department:
We are looking to hire a highly motivated part-time employee to join our Learning Space Design team and support the day-to-day technical activities in support of George Mason University's classrooms and labs. This is an hourly position up to 29 hours per week.
About the Position:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Project Management, AV (Audio Visual) Design or Engineering, or a related field. Work will be performed primarily at our Fairfax, Va campus but may expand to our Arlington, Va, and Prince William, Va offices. Pay is commensurate with experience (minimum $17/hr). Responsibilities:
The Senior Learning Space Design (LSD) Assistant will provide the following (but not limited to):
Assist the Engineer/Project Managers with tasks related to audio visual projects supporting George Mason classrooms, labs, and various informal learning spaces, including tasks requiring networking skills;Assist engineers and project managers with tasks related to the planning and installation of audio-visual system installations across three campuses;Support in all phases of the project management life cycle; andAssist in documentation of equipment receipts and tracking of inventory.Required Qualifications:
In depth and broad knowledge of computing technologies, audio-visual equipment, video conferencing technologies, and audio-visual control systems;Ability to learn new technologies and skills;Skilled in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite;Demonstrated organizational and management skills;Excellent written and verbal communication skills; andAbility to work cohesively in a team environment.Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of networking basics; andExperience supporting audio visual installations.Instructions to Applicants:
