Position Overview
Norwood has an opening for an experienced and dynamic part-time (.75 FTE) early childhood (K-2) music teacher starting in the 2025-2026 academic year. Successful candidates will have strong keyboard and vocal modeling skills as well as experience incorporating listening/analysis, creative movement, and music-literacy skill building into lesson plans for this specific age level. A background in Kodaly is a plus. This position also includes creating/directing grade-level productions based on singing songs often enhanced by drama, dance, pantomime, and rhythm/xylophone instrumental accompaniment. Additionally, this position includes accompanying duties at our daily assembly programs.
Qualifications
Applicants for the elementary music teacher position must have at least three years of experience working with students in early childhood. Strong applicants will have a demonstrated commitment to anti-bias education with a child-centered pedagogy. Additional qualifications include excellent communication skills, flexibility, sense of humor, and a love for working with children.

Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $48,750 to $82,500, dependent upon experience. This is a part-time, 10-month position. Work hours vary daily Monday through Friday, for a total of 30 hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
