Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Backend Media Developer to join their team! This position is located in Glendale, California.
Duties:
- Design and develop media encoding pipelines to ensure efficient and high-quality media processing
- Create and maintain streaming media workflows
- Utilize AWS services and infrastructure to optimize media processing and delivery workflows
- Proficiently operate in both Linux and Windows command line environments
- Leverage FFmpeg and other multimedia frameworks to handle media transformation tasks effectively
- Work with IMF and ProRes formats to meet industry standards and requirements
- Work collaboratively with a team of talented software engineers and subject matter experts to design, build, test and deploy software solutions that contribute to various studio workflows across integrated and specialized systems
- Troubleshoot production support issues and implement defect fixes
- Innovate and collaborate with the content security teams to provide safe, secure and reliable applications
- Familiarity working within an agile scrum process using epics, user stories and tasks, while also being able to prioritize urgent production requests and still deliver planned work on time
- Provide transparency with the delays/challenges across the project to leads
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 3+ years of Industry experience
- 2+ years experience required within a large scale platform environment
- Proven experience in developing media encoding pipelines
- Proficiency in working with AWS services for media processing and distribution
- Strong command line skills in both Linux and Windows environments
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with multimedia frameworks like FFmpeg
- Familiarity with IMF and ProRes standards
- Proficient in working with API Gateway, Next JS, Node JS, TypeScript and AWS Serverless technologies
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java and Python for customization and automation purposes
- Security experience with SAML, SSO, JWT
- Ability to be a great team player to support complex technical projects
- Experience in working with a team to design customized solutions based on evolving business needs
- Knowledge and experience using source control and CI tools (GitLab/GitHub), Terraform & Agile/Scrum methodologies
