Base pay range
$24.00/hr - $27.00/hr
Job Summary: The Audio Visual Technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio and visual equipment for meetings, conferences, and events within the organization. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve AV issues promptly.
Responsibilities:
Setup and Operation:
- Set up, test, and operate audio-visual equipment including projectors, microphones, video monitors, and sound systems for meetings and events.
- Ensure all AV equipment is functioning properly before events and provide on-site support during events to address any technical issues.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to AV equipment promptly to minimize downtime.
Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with event coordinators, IT staff, and other departments to understand AV requirements and provide technical support.
- Assist in the planning and execution of AV setups for large-scale events and conferences.
Documentation and Inventory:
- Maintain accurate records of AV equipment inventory, including tracking usage and scheduling maintenance.
- Document AV setups and configurations for future reference and training purposes.
Training and Development:
- Provide training and support to staff on the proper use of AV equipment.
- Stay updated on the latest AV technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and upgrades.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in audio-visual technology or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in audio-visual setup, operation, and maintenance, preferably in a corporate or enterprise environment.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in operating a variety of AV equipment including projectors, sound systems, video conferencing tools, and control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and clients.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy AV equipment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
