Job Title: CAD Sheet Metal Designer
Location: Warminster PA 18974

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced CAD Sheet Metal Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed 3D and 2D designs of sheet metal components using CAD software, ensuring manufacturability, and working closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to deliver precise and efficient designs. Our standard line of products are customizable to clients' specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of sheet metal components and assemblies using CAD software ( e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor).
- Create flat patterns and prepare files for CNC programming and laser cutting.
- Ensure designs comply with material constraints, tolerances, and manufacturing standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize designs for cost, performance, and ease of fabrication.
- Perform design revisions and updates based on feedback from prototype and production.
- Maintain design documentation and revision control.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications for custom sheet metal parts.
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, bending, welding, and finishing.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or certificate in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in sheet metal design.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor, especially with sheet metal modules. Experience with Key Creator a plus.
- Experience creating designs from scratch or implementing updates on existing designs.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Experience with GD&T and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with PDM/PLM systems.
- Familiarity with welding symbols and metal finishing specifications.
