We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer II to work hybrid out of the Norwood office to serve as a core team member of the growing service training team.
A Day in the Life:
As a Technical Writer II you will be responsible for creating and editing technical documentation for servicing life science/laboratory electrical equipment and instrumentation. You will craft precise and detailed service manuals, checklists, repair instruction and other essential documents. You will work closely with engineers, manufacturing, and technical support to ensure all materials meet high standards of clarity and professionalism. Your role requires excellent writing and editing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Write and develop content from inception to final form, specifically for servicing Advanced Instruments portfolio of products (including Osmometers, Anoxomat, GloCyte, Dairy, Solentim, and Artel instruments).
- Copyedit, proofread, and fact-check material before review.
- Summarize long bodies of content into concise and accurate copy, and detailed paragraphs into procedural steps.
- Document control of existing products, for both known information and updating new processes and findings.
- Follow established review processes to track and incorporate edits in collaboration with Service Training.
- Take steps for process improvements on all fronts.
- Attend in-person meetings and workshops to develop and maintain existing documentation for all Advanced Instruments Products including Osmometers, Anoxomat, GloCyte, Dairy, Artel, and Solentim products.
- Act as liaison for Service communications in cross department processes including document review and approvals.
- Publish work instructions, bulletins, memos, service guides, and SOPs within ERP/LPM and other Document management systems.
- Manage and respond to customer questionnaires and forms regarding Osmometer, Anoxomat, Glocyte, and Dairy instruments networking, cybersecurity, hardware, software, and service capabilities.
- Demonstrate excellent organization skills.
- Ensure professionalism and consistency across all materials and communications.
- Organize and maintain internal libraries of Service protocols, documents, collateral, and diagram/photo/video assets.
What we are looking for in you:
- Bachelor’s degree
- A minimum of 3-5 years in engineering/technical writing
- Impeccable attention to detail and outstanding writing, communication, editing and proofreading skills in a variety of styles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to forge strong partnerships with various audiences.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously and follow efforts through to completion.
- Strong initiative with ability to work independently, proactively and as part of a team.
- Ability to learn new systems and technology quickly (prior experience with SalesForce, Empower, and similar systems preferred).
- Adept in MS Windows, Microsoft Word / Excel /PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite.
