Job Summary

An innovative leader responsible for the La-Z-Boy In-Home Design program and personalized client solutions, reflecting the company's ethos around people, processes, products, and brand. The role involves translating client needs into design concepts, conducting in-home consultations, and supporting sales teams with design expertise. This position aims to elevate the design culture with high standards of professionalism and integrity.

Training Pay: $15 - $20 per hour for 3-4 weeks (no commission)

Average Earning Potential After Training: $50,000 - $80,000 annually (including base, commission, and bonus)

Key Responsibilities

• Promote the La-Z-Boy In-Home Design program, draft design solutions, and present customized portfolios to meet or exceed sales goals.
• Achieve annual and personal sales benchmarks.
• Conduct in-home consultations to understand client needs, preferences, and visions.

People

• Partner with store and sales managers to coach and support sales teams, enhancing design culture and sales techniques.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure operational excellence.

Brand Advocacy

• Create design concepts and digital presentations, including finish selections, furnishings, and decor.
• Translate client lifestyles, tastes, and budgets into actionable recommendations.

Operations

• Ensure proper execution of systems and procedures.
• Support management with meetings and special projects.
• Maintain store visual standards and cleanliness.

Scope & Impact

This role significantly influences the store’s financial health, team morale, operational efficiency, and customer experience. Reports to the Store Manager and influences the sales team indirectly.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2-3 years in sales or interior design, preferably residential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD programs, financial literacy, interpersonal communication, and customer service.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Requirements

• Design Certification.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, communication skills, business acumen, and relationship-building experience.

Additional Details

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, operating a vehicle, standing for long periods, and other physical activities. Must pass background and drug screenings.
