Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty: Operating Room (OR)
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, 07:00 AM - 04:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience in a hospital setting
License: Must have a valid RN license
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required (must be through the American Heart Association)
Must-Have:
- Ability to circulate in general, orthopedic, spine, ENT, and endoscopy surgeries
- Ability to function in PACU
- Preferred experience in the scrub role and Sterile Processing Department (SPD)
- Availability for call with a one-hour response time
Job Description:
- Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
- Document patient care provided and monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions appropriately to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate learning needs of patients and/or families, and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
