Job Description

The Part-Time Audio-Visual Technician supports the churchs mission by ensuring high-quality audio and visual experiences for services and events. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in AV operations. Working closely with the Audio-Visual Technical Supervisor, this position helps maintain and operate AV systems to support various church functions.
This position reports directly to Audio-Visual Technical Supervisor.
Essential Job Functions
- Support in setting up, operating, dismantling, storing, and maintaining AV equipment for various church events
- Ensure proper setup and secure storage of AV equipment after all events, keeping storage areas organized
- Read and interpret room diagrams to ensure accurate AV setups for events and activities
- Assist in basic troubleshooting of AV equipment and facilitate repairs when needed
- Ensure a safe and secure working environment, adhering to safety protocols
- Be knowledgeable about emergency procedures and act accordingly in case of emergencies
- Attend and assist in basic AV training sessions for other staff or volunteers
- Clean and maintain AV equipment, reporting any damages or misuse to the Audio-Visual Technical Supervisor
- Handle sensitive, confidential information and assignments with tact, discretion and diplomacy
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Participate in shadowing opportunities with experienced AV Technicians
- Attend workshops focused on troubleshooting techniques, including cable management and projector operations

This Will Also Include
- Regular attendance at Church services and classes,
- Serving as a Prayer Partner or as a volunteer in any ministry of the Church, and
- Serving our community through local outreaches from time to time when needed by the Church

- Professional appearance and conduct
- Demonstrated Christ-like character
- Basic technical knowledge and experience in working with sound, video, and lighting systems, including their design, terminology, and methodology
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to troubleshoot AV issues in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift and transport up to 25 lbs of AV equipment as needed
- Punctuality and reliability are essential to the function of this position
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and special occasions
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two years of experience in an industry-related field, working in multi-room AV setups, dealing with audio, video, and lighting systems
