Job Title: Technical writer / Business Analyst
Duration: 5 years + Possible extension
Location: D.C. Washington
Job Duties / Key Responsibilities:
Elicit, document, and analyze business and technical requirements for RPA and AI solutions from key stakeholders in commercial and federal environments.
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and accurate documentation , including functional specifications, SOPs, system design documents, user guides, and training materials.
Support product development by working closely with developers, RPA architects, and product owners to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
Assist in configuring and testing cloud-based automation and AI solutions, including validating use case performance against documented requirements.
Lead and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts and document test plans, cases, and results.
Conduct user training sessions , create job aids and training decks, and provide post-deployment user support.
Maintain document version control and ensure all deliverables align with agency documentation standards and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to document as-is and to-be process workflows , identify automation opportunities, and define expected outcomes.
Create technical artifacts in support of Authority to Operate (ATO) processes, such as security plans and configuration documentation.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives) and contribute to backlog grooming and story writing.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Technical Writer and/or Business Analyst supporting cloud-based RPA or AI projects in the commercial or federal sector .
Proven ability to document technical workflows, system architecture, user stories, test plans, and training manuals.
Strong understanding of RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere) and AI technologies (e.g., NLP, OCR, machine learning).
Experience working in cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), with familiarity in documenting system configurations and integrations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interface with technical teams, end users, and federal stakeholders.
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain or maintain a Public Trust or higher clearance .
Preferred Skills:
Prior project experience with Department of Treasury, IRS, or Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) .
Proficiency in documentation and collaboration tools such as Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint, Visio, and Adobe Technical Communication Suite .
Understanding of FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST 800-53 compliance requirements and ability to support related documentation.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working within Agile project teams.
Experience developing training and onboarding content for federal users transitioning to RPA/AI platforms.
