The Librarian must uphold the philosophy and mission of the University while instilling positive and progressive attitudes in all employees.
Part-time NOT a Remote position
JOB REQUIREMENTS include but are not limited to the following:
COMPLIANCE:
• Responsible for compliance with all local, state, accreditation and federal regulations.
• Ensure that all employees and students are held accountable to the company's policies and procedures and applicable laws.
• Monitor, recommend, purchase, and implement library resources to ensure accreditation compliance.
• Ensure completeness, accuracy, and security of campus files, documents, and reports.
• Direct, train, and review necessary policies and procedures with employees to ensure a culture of compliance.
SUPERVISION:
• Oversee all duties of the Library department.
• Manage 1 to 5 direct reports.
• Conduct interviews, training, and terminations.
• Manage and ensure Library employees' performance standards.
• Ensure through proper monitoring and communication Library employees adhere to the company's policies and procedures.
• Ensure Library employees' performance reviews and disciplinary actions are completed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Create an environment that fosters trust, provides training and development for employees, supports ethical duties, and is motivational to employees;
• Monitor, recommend, purchase and implement LRC library resources to ensure accreditation compliance;
• Design and implement user training courses/instructional materials to assist students in search strategies and advance information needs or problems;
• Promote student and faculty use of library resources;
• Develop, oversee and/or implement LRC training for new faculty and library staff;
• Conduct regularly scheduled library operations meeting and record minutes;
• Provide reference assistance through print and electronic resources;
• Ensure appropriate learning resources are available at each site;
• Coordinates with campus staff and LRC Assistants to achieve annual academic CEP library goals and objectives;
• Develop, maintain and implement library policies and procedures as necessary;
• Maintain ongoing professional industry knowledge and skills of library/information science. Identify emerging issues, trends and respond appropriately including implementing enhanced practices for library collections and technologies;
• Conduct site visits and planned communication with all library staff and faculty;
• Other duties as assigned.
