Position Highlights
Arizona Public Media is looking for a Lead Senior Broadcast Traffic Specialist to join the team. The Lead Senior Broadcast Traffic Coordinator is a senior member of the radio and television broadcast traffic operations team. This experienced lead position will help guide a team that provides essential operational support for radio and television programming. The team is responsible for the creation and production of radio and television broadcast logs for multiple stations and programming streams, which denote program schedules and placements of station identification, promotional, and underwriting announcements. They are also responsible for coordinating timely and accurate communication between traffic operations, the radio and television program directors, master control operations, the underwriting sales staff, the marketing and brand management staff, and the business office staff. They ensure compliance with university policies, state and federal laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both radio and television systems. They will be a leader and team player who has the ability to train other AZPM members.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage multimedia and traffic team activities for the AZPM Traffic Department by training, assigning, scheduling, and mentoring staff and students.
- Communicate cross-departmentally with AZPM Leadership, managers, staff to source and create needed meta-data, schedule local interstitial television breaks; and underwriting spots, coordinating among all stakeholders the highest and best use of airtime to meet the needs of the organization’s strategy.
- Prepare daily radio and television broadcast logs for scheduled programs and interstitial material using traffic management software.
- Reconcile the daily broadcast logs in compliance with FCC rules and regulations and AZPM guidelines.
- Maintain daily broadcast record schedule and follow-up of program resources.
- Manage broadcast log for each channel while ensuring proper Bugs are in the log.
- Ensure underwriting openings are attached to underwriting spots and connected properly for paid clients.
- Oversee completion of monthly reports.
- Verify and export completed data files for all daily broadcast logs.
- Implement changes and advisory posted program information from national network.
- Assist with troubleshooting on-air traffic and broadcast-related issues.
- Coordinate with other public broadcasting stations and PMM as necessary for delivery of scheduled programs.
- Process radio and television underwriting insertion orders, assign copy, set spot schedules, send confirmations, and schedule make goods.
- Work to ensure compliance with the Federal Communications Rules and Regulations.
- Conduct training for team members across AZPM.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Meticulous attention to detail, organizational, communication skills and accuracy.
- Exceptional competence in both oral and written English.
- Ability to utilize relevant software programs, particularly Microsoft Office 365, and cloud-based delivery applications.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of television programming strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Myers Protrack or similar broadcast scheduling software.
