Assistant Library Manager – Rondo Community Library
Are you passionate about libraries, community engagement, and leading a team to provide excellent service? The Rondo Community Library is looking for an Assistant Library Manager to oversee adult reference services, manage library programming, and support daily operations. This position offers a dynamic mix of leadership, customer service, and community outreach.
Here’s what you can expect to do:
- Lead and Support Library Services – Oversee adult reference services, including book collections, circulation, and assisting patrons in locating materials.
- Manage a Team and Library Programming – Supervise staff, coordinate schedules, and develop engaging programs to meet community needs.
- Provide Direct Patron Support – Assist with reference and referral services, collection development, and ensuring access to library resources.
- Ensure Smooth Library Operations – Oversee service delivery, address immediate facility concerns with maintenance staff, and ensure a welcoming library environment.
- Engage with the Community – Build relationships, develop partnerships, and create programs that support the educational, recreational, and cultural needs of the Rondo neighborhood.
Information Specific to this Position: The schedule for this position is full-time and will include some evenings and weekends. This position is 100% on-site.

Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree and 24 semester credits in courses leading to an American Library Association (ALA) accredited master’s degree in Library Science.
OR
A bachelor’s degree and one year of professional experience to include at least two of the following: a library setting, project or program implementation, volunteer coordination, team facilitation, customer service delivery, or community outreach work.
OR
An associate degree or two years of relevant college coursework; AND three years of professional experience to include at least three of the following: experience in library setting, project or program, volunteer coordination, team facilitation, customer service delivery, or community outreach work.
