Overview
Our client, a leading educational institution, is seeking a University Library Clerk to join their team. As a University Library Clerk, you will be part of the Collection Services Department supporting the Law Library. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: University Library Clerk
Location: Durham, NC
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:30pm
- Full-time preferred, but part-time will be considered
Contract : Three to Six month contract position with possible opportunity for permanent position. (likely 6 months)
Pay Range: $20 per hour
What's the Job?

Perform acquisitions tasks, including placing and tracking orders, managing contracts, and resolving errors.

Manage acquisitions records in the integrated library system and ensure accurate cataloging of resources.

Coordinate the shelving and filing of new resource items and manage the withdrawal of outdated materials.

Assist with electronic resource management through routine batch uploads of e-resource bibliographic records.

Collaborate on the transition to a new integrated library system, including training and workflow documentation.
What's Needed?

A bachelor's or master's degree in Library Science is essential, though current students in the field may also be eligible for consideration.

Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities are necessary, including the skill to precisely follow complex procedures.

Proficiency in computer tasks, including Microsoft Office and library technical services, is required.

Experience working in an academic library is highly desirable.

Strong service orientation and the ability to work with diverse populations.
