Overview
We are seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to join our Business Technology Operations team and help transform how our internal tools serve our growing organization. In this role, you will design intuitive, user-centered experiences for critical internal platforms and business systems that enable our teams to do their best work. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, operations leads, researchers, and cross-functional end users across Anthropic to understand complex workflows and translate them into seamless, accessible interfaces.
Our Business Technology team builds and maintains the internal infrastructure that powers Anthropic's mission-critical work. As our organization scales rapidly, we need someone who can bring user-centered design thinking to enterprise software, making complex systems feel simple and intuitive. You'll work directly with users from research, engineering, security, and operations teams to identify pain points and design solutions that improve productivity and user satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Design user-centered interfaces for internal business systems and operational tools used across the organization
- Conduct user research through interviews, usability testing, and feedback sessions to understand the needs of technical and non-technical users across different teams
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that solve complex workflow challenges in enterprise environments
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to ensure designs are technically feasible and align with business requirements
- Develop and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across internal platforms
- Analyze user feedback and usage data to continuously iterate and improve existing interfaces
- Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders across different technical backgrounds
- Partner with the Business Technology Operations team to prioritize design improvements based on user impact and business needs
You may be a good fit if you:
- Have 3-5+ years of experience designing user interfaces, preferably for internal tools, enterprise software, or B2B applications
- Are skilled in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite, with experience in prototyping and wireframing
- Have experience conducting user research and translating insights into actionable design improvements
- Can work effectively with technical teams and understand the constraints and possibilities of web-based applications
- Have a strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to solve complex UX problems, particularly in data-heavy or workflow-intensive applications
- Enjoy collaborating directly with users to understand their needs and pain points
- Are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where you'll need to balance multiple projects and stakeholder needs
- Have excellent communication skills and can articulate design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong candidates may also have experience with:
- Designing for enterprise systems, business operations tools, or other internal-facing applications
- Working with developer tools, admin interfaces, or complex data management systems
- Information architecture and designing for complex data relationships and workflows
- Accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
- Basic understanding of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to better collaborate with engineering teams
- Experience in startups or high-growth technology companies
- Background in user research methodologies and usability testing
