What you’ll do:
The Audio Lab Technician is responsible for evaluating and ensuring the quality of audio products through rigorous testing in a controlled laboratory environment. This role involves setting up and calibrating audio equipment, preparing and configuring the acoustic room, executing detailed tests, analyzing results, and troubleshooting issues to ensure high standards of audio performance. The technician will manage the setup of acoustic environments to ensure all testing activities are conducted under optimal conditions.
What you need to get the job done:
· Set up and configure audio testing equipment, including microphones, mouth simulators, HATS (Head and Torso Simulators), speakers, audio interfaces and measurement tools.
· Set up and configure ACQUA system for executing audio (VoIP) tests based on predefined testing protocols and standards.
· Perform routine calibration of audio equipment to ensure accuracy.
· Adjust settings on audio equipment to align with testing protocols and standards.
· Prepare and maintain the audio lab environment to ensure optimal conditions for accurate testing.
· Ensure all necessary equipment, software, and network configurations are correctly set up for testing.
· Diagnose and resolve technical issues with audio equipment promptly.
· Identify and troubleshoot audio quality issues during VOIP tests.
· Collaborate with engineering teams to address and resolve any performance issues or defects.
· Record and document test results accurately.
· Maintain well-organized records of testing activities and outcomes.
· Work closely with other team members, including developers, engineers, and quality assurance (QA) staff, to support testing activities.
Qualification:
· Experience: 1-5 years of experience in audio testing or a related field, with hands-on experience in an audio lab environment. Knowledge or experience with ACQUA systems is a plus.
· Audio Knowledge: Solid understanding of audio principles, acoustics, and audio quality metrics.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency with audio measurement equipment and software (e.g. ACQUA), and a comprehensive understanding of audio quality metrics.
· Precision and Accuracy: Strong analytical skills with a focus on precision and accuracy in testing and documentation.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and collaborating with team members.
