Overview
Arena Stage will provide the fellow with opportunities to develop skills in various areas of theater marketing, including:
Content Creation and Strategy
Developing engaging content for social media platforms
Learning how to tailor messaging for different audiences and channels
Crafting compelling email campaigns that align with organizational goals
Analytics and Performance Tracking
Using analytics tools (like Google Analytics or social media insights) to track the performance of campaigns
Learning to interpret data to optimize marketing strategies
Reporting on KPIs to assess the effectiveness of marketing efforts
Campaign Management
Managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations
Coordinating across teams for cohesive marketing strategies
Public Relations and Media Relations
Gaining experience in earned media through pitching stories, press releases, and managing media contacts
Building relationships with influencers or journalists to amplify organizational messages
Marketing Technology and Tools
Becoming proficient in platforms like HeyOrca for social media scheduling and Prospect2 for email marketing
Understanding ad platforms such as Google Ads and Facebook Business Manager
Exploring CRM systems and automation tools to streamline communication efforts
A successful Marketing and Communications Fellow should possess strong foundational skills to excel in this role, including excellent written and verbal communication skills to create compelling content across various channels. Organizational and time management abilities are crucial for juggling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with social media platforms, email marketing tools, and basic analytics is essential for effective campaign execution and performance evaluation. Creative thinking and problem-solving skills enable the fellow to contribute innovative ideas to enhance marketing strategies. Additionally, adaptability and a willingness to learn are key for navigating the ever-changing landscape of paid, earned, and digital media.
The Marketing Fellow will occasionally be required to work evening and weekend hours for special events, such as Invited Dress Rehearsals, Opening Nights, and community engagement initiatives. The fellowship is designed as a full-time commitment of approximately 40 hours per week, focusing on learning and contributing to the organization's marketing efforts.
