The purpose of this position is to provide support and technology-focused premier customer service to library patrons as well as library staff. This is accomplished by: staying abreast of best practices regarding IT/Technical services in a library setting, providing support to IT/Tech needs within daily functions of the library, including troubleshooting and problem solving, as well as assessing and anticipating future technology needs. This position is also responsible for assisting in the overall inventory and management of devices available for check out by patrons ("check-out technology") as well as management of tech-related spaces. This position will work closely with the Library Technology team and be supervised by the Library Systems Supervisor. This position does not provide direction to other employees.

- Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by responding to requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist library patrons by answering questions, providing technology demonstrations and providing technical assistance.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining their assigned area.
- Assist with audio visual, makerspace and recording studio programming.
- Helps to maintain inventory of take-home technology/contact customers regarding library technology.
- Assists with implementing departmental policies, programs, procedures, systems and objectives related to technology.
- Assists with overall library operations and facilities by assisting and collaborating with other staff to maintain a high functioning library.
- Assist in the setup and installation of library systems and programs.
- Quickly and accurately process multiple types of information and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Provides input on stats, data and library technology trends.
- Regular attendance required, including evenings, weekends and special events as needed.
- Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. Some college level coursework preferred.
- Knowledge of hardware, software and peripheral equipment maintenance, repair, setup modification and troubleshooting methods, practices, and procedures.
- At least one year of technology-related customer service experience required.
