Relates well to students, staff and parentsService oriented and flexiblePossesses strong general clerical skills with ability to operate and maintain all office/library machines, AV equipment, computers and other technologies as assignedAbility to quickly master library-specific skills, techniques and proceduresEnthusiastic about books, reading and understands how to promote the same enthusiasm in studentsPost high school education and/or employment equivalentExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)The Library Technician is supervised by the Library Media Specialist and/or AdministratorResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Circulation, organization and storage of library materials and equipmentMaintenance and repair of library materials and equipmentPerforming library material and equipment inventoriesOpening and closing the libraryOpening and closing computer lab(s) as assigned
Assist Staff & StudentsScheduling and maintaining computer lab(s) as assignedImplementing the process for overdue notificationsPerforming preventative maintenance, minor repairs, work orders and troubleshooting (also in classrooms as needed)Assisting students and staff in location and use of library materials and equipmentLocating and collecting library materials for teachersKeeping the library neat and decorated appropriately for the seasonPromoting reading through displays and activitiesOther duties as assigned by the Library Medial Specialist and/or Administrator
