The purpose of the Marketer/Business Development position is to develop, coordinate, and implement a marketing plan with clear objectives based on the facility's strengths and meet and exceed the monthly goals of increasing facility census with appropriate ratio mix of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care and private payer in accordance with current federal, state and local guidelines that govern the facility and as directed by management and/or the Administrator.
The Marketer will work cooperatively with the facility multidisciplinary team to determine if potential patients meet facility acuity and financial requirements. They will be committed to always doing the right thing.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Collaborating with the Administrator to ensure census goalsSubmitting a weekly calendar of scheduled marketing appointments to the AdministratorMaking daily contact with acute care case managers, social workers, discharge planners and physiciansManaging patient family relationships and meeting with them upon admissions to ensure the completion of facility required admission paperworkAssessing potential patients in the local hospitals and answering their questions about the facilityMaintaining a database of physician and case manager contacts and profilesParticipating in local community events to promote visibility and increase facility's censusFollowing operational budgetAttending stand-up meetings every dayOverseeing inquiries from physicians, hospital discharge planners, etc. and respond to all referrals within 15 minutes of receiptFor PDPM compliance, ensuring all new admissions to the facility have proper documentation discharge summary, therapy notes, nursing notes, and medication listKeeping updated with Medicare/Medicaid regulations governing admission and discharge requirementsReporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediatelyProtecting each patients/residents file and data with confidentially per HIPAA standards

Requirements
Education / Licensure
Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing preferred
Qualifications/ Experience
Minimum of 2 - 5 years of sales/marketing/admissions experience in skilled nursing facilitiesPersuasive ability communicating in English both verbal and writtenCharismatic at delivering marketing presentations to individuals or groupsAbility to work knowledgeable with acute case managers, social workers and physiciansProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Must be accurate with details regarding residents medical records
Working Conditions
Driving several times a week to various marketing appointments at physician's offices, hospitals, etc.Works in office areas as well as throughout the facilityMay encounter frequent interruptionsMay be involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstancesMay be requested to work beyond normal working hours at timesIs subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
