aims to provide a breadth of evidence and expert narratives on securing food systems for the future. It publishes research and commentary on all aspects of food production, processing, distribution and consumption that contribute to food security and food sustainability. The team is seeking a full-time Locum Associate or Senior Editor with an interdisciplinary background in sustainability sciences/environmental sciences/food sciences. Expertise in food systems and public health nutrition would be particularly welcomed, but candidates in related subdiscipline will be considered. Candidates should have a broad understanding of the research landscape in food systems transformation, food policy and food security. This position would especially suit an early career researcher with a passion for science, but who is looking to move away from academia. This role can be in our New York, Jersey City, Philadelphia, Berlin, Heidelberg or Pune offices on a hybrid working model Duration:
The role will be offered on a fixed-term basis for 9-12 months. Role Responsibilities: You will work closely with the Chief Editor and a small team of friendly and supportive editors on all aspects of the editorial process, which includes: Manuscript assessment and selection, and handling of peer review Commissioning and editing of Review and Opinion articles Writing for the journal Representing the journal at scientific meetings and conferences Working collaboratively with editors across other Nature Portfolio journals Experience, Skills, & Qualifications: A PhD in a relevant discipline (postdoctoral experience is welcomed, but not essential) Broad scientific knowledge and training A keen interest and enthusiasm for the practice and communication of science Willingness to learn and appreciate new areas of research Good literary skills Excellent time management and work prioritization skills Excellent interpersonal skills Editorial experience would be beneficial, but not essential as full training will be given. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education, skill level and equity.
