Position Overview
The Marketing Design Lead is integral to delivering on the Bank’s marketing strategy by providing creative direction and design for multiplatform campaigns and communication tools while overseeing creative work produced by the Marketing & Design Associate and freelance partners. This fast-paced role requires a person who is creative, highly organized and detail-oriented, demonstrates self-initiative and strong creative management skills to ensure high-quality output and consistency across all materials. The Marketing Design Lead will manage all aspects of production for both digital and traditional marketing, including advertising collateral, branding and graphic design. Additionally, the role involves maintaining and promoting the Bank’s brand standards, managing website and social media content, assisting with communications, and supporting internal and external events. The ideal candidate is a strong protector and promoter of the brand with excellent organizational and project management abilities. As a valuable member of the team, this associate may also be required to assist with after-hours events. This is an onsite position at our Santa Cruz corporate office.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage design projects from start to finish, overseeing timelines, budgets and client expectations.
- Develop creative concepts using inspiration from traditional industry and nontraditional sources.
- Design and maintain marketing collateral for print, digital, outdoor and social media platforms.
- Update and manage website content and digital advertising campaigns.
- Develop and maintain brand guidelines and ensure proper logo usage.
- Work hand-in-hand with every member of the Marketing team, to translate their vision into a reality while maintaining the organization’s brand standards.
- Direct outside creatives and partner agencies to ensure existing brand standards are met.
- Assist with photo shoots, press releases, internal communications, and executive presentations.
- Manage marketing assets to ensure brand consistency and accessibility.
- Use project management software and procedures to obtain required associate and compliance approvals.
- Prepare files that meet the production specifications required for print, digital advertisements, etc.
- Package, archive and back-up files, not only for the organization’s future use, but also for regulatory audits as required.
- Support event planning and execution including shareholder meetings and community events.
- Create training materials and step-by-step guides for internal processes.
- Be cross-trained to serve as backup support for other marketing team members when necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, integrated/new media design, fine arts or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in graphic design and marketing.
- 1-2 years of banking experience preferred.
- Superior design skills and strong proficiency in Adobe Create Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
- Prepress and digital file production knowledge and experience working with printers, web developers and digital agencies to provide files that meet the correct specifications required for each platform.
- Experience with design tools such as Canva and Figma as well as familiarity with website coding and back-end administration.
- Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp and/or Constant Contact.
- Experience in project management tools like Asana and/or Monday.com.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a challenging environment.
