Visa's internal creative agency. Just as Visa founder Dee Hock revolutionized the way we pay, Ad Hock is taking a new approach to the internal creative team by developing a fully functional advertising agency in-house. We create high-visibility content to support every layer of the funnel to ultimately high drive direct response rates. Our clients are the biggest brands in banking, retail, fintech and just about anything else you can imagine, and they need our help to reach their audience with impactful creative. That's where you'll step in! Our agency is rapidly expanding, and we're looking for a Graphic Designer specializing in Direct Response channels including email, digital, direct mail, and other advertising collateral to join a growing team that will add lifecycle and direct response marketing to our portfolio of offerings. The ideal candidate has strong design skills across a range of channels, a passion for creating beautiful work, and a growth mindset that drives the desire to constantly improve. You use a mix of consumer insights, behaviors, and context to help craft holistic journeys with your target audience at top of mind. You'll be joining an expanding team of creatives to produce personalized direct response email, direct mail, landing pages, and digital campaigns for Visa's largest clients in the banking, fintech, financial services, and merchant sectors. You have a strong skill and passion for layouts, composition, and graphic design fundamentals to maximize effectiveness for our clients. You can adapt quickly to rapidly changing priorities and thrive in a dynamic, growing environment. You can seamlessly balance maintaining brand guidelines while offering fresh design perspectives. You are an open minded, empathetic collaborator who can build relationships with a wide range of people. This San Francisco-based role sits on the creative team and reports to a New York-based Creative Director, so the ideal candidate must be able to work autonomously and communicate efficiently, but don't worry, you'll have a team of creatives with you in SF to lean on too. Responsibilities Collaborate across teams: Support and work closely with internal teams such as Client Marketing Services, Creative, Media, and Marketing Delivery to align strategies and deliver work that considers the needs of multiple stakeholders, problem-solving cross-functionally as needed
Maintain strong relationships: build rapport and maintain positive working relationships with partners and clients
Communication: Effective, efficient, and dynamic communicator who can distill complex ideas and listen empathetically to the needs of our partners and clients. You are not afraid to ask questions, voice concerns or identify roadblocks and are able to do so quickly and thoughtfully
Paying the bills: You will create a lot of direct response marketing including emails, digital assets, direct mail packages, social posts, and landing pages, with some light motion graphics depending on needs that supports client marketing strategies to drive acquisition, engagement, and retention
Creative: Desire and ability to challenge the status quo while maintaining thoughtful, consistent creative quality that adheres to design principles and client guidelines, actively participate in strategy discussions, concept & design brainstorms
Manage multiple projects and priorities: Brainstorming. Revising. Executing. You'll be asked to do all these things and must know when to use the creative process to deliver fresh work and when to re-skin a template
Brand: Become a subject matter expert on the nuances of a complicated global brand and its visual language, as well as quickly get up to speed on our clients' brand and visual language
Learning: Continuously stay up to date on industry and creative best practices to better understand client objectives and target audiences to drive maximum results for the creatives you design, broadly share these insights for the benefit of the larger team
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
*2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
Preferred Qualifications
*3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
*A strong portfolio of work demonstrating your knowledge of advertising and design principles - must include examples across a range of direct response channels
*5+ years experience working with multiple types of clients in advertising, digital or brand marketing, graphic design or strategy
*BFA/BA or relevant experience
*A fundamental understanding of direct mail, email, social media and digital marketing
*Strong project management skills and experience coordinating cross functional, end-to-end projects that include a high level of detail
*Team player able to work on multi-part projects across teams and able to ensure project deadlines and budgets are met during all stages of the creative process
*Work efficiently on quick timelines while still maintaining high standards of quality but also be able to work independently on creative brand projects when timelines are less constrained
*Experience working across all mediums from direct mail to email to digital to print, and how to weave ideas across them
*Positive relationship management skills and ability to influence decision makers both internally and externally
*Act as a champion of brand standards and guidelines
*Proficiency in Figma , Adobe products such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign as well as MS PowerPoint and Excel
*Experience with large or regulated brands preferred

This position will be performed in an office setting. U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 105,800 to 135,000 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
