Job Summary/Description:
7NEWS in Watertown is seeking a motivated journalist eager to report news with integrity and creativity. The role involves investigative reporting, feature storytelling, and potential on-air anchoring. The position starts at $37,440 plus overtime, with a full benefits package including a 401(k) and a sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities:
- Develop story ideas from community sources
- Shoot, edit, and write news packages
- Meet deadlines
- Dress professionally and represent the station
- Anchor newscasts when needed
- Work effectively within a newsroom
- Handle interviews professionally and respectfully
- Learn newsroom editing software (EDIUS) and producing platform (ENPS) (training provided)
Qualifications:
- Degree in communication, journalism, or related field
- Ability to carry news-gathering equipment
