Job Posting Summary
The Director of Digital Studio plays a crucial role in shaping the university's digital presence through the development of engaging social media content, compelling website materials, and captivating videos. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Content Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement comprehensive digital content strategies aligned with the university's brand and goals
- Conduct research to identify emerging trends and best practices in digital content creation, ensuring Mercy University remains innovative and competitive
Social Media Management:
- Create and curate engaging content for Mercy University's social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok
- Monitor social media trends, respond to inquiries, and engage with the university's online community to foster meaningful interactions and enhance brand visibility
- Analyze social media performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to optimize reach, engagement, and conversion
Website Content Development:
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of captivating website content, ensuring consistency in messaging, tone, and branding across all digital platforms
- Collaborate with web developers and designers to enhance user experience and accessibility, keeping Mercy University's website current and user-friendly
Video Production:
- Conceptualize, script, and produce high-quality video content that showcases Mercy University's mission, programs, achievements, and campus life
- Coordinate video shoots, including scheduling, location scouting, and talent management, to ensure seamless execution and adherence to project timelines
- Edit and post-produce videos using industry-standard software, optimizing content for various platforms and audiences
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with various departments and stakeholders across the university to gather content, stories, and updates for digital distribution
- Provide guidance and support to faculty, staff, and student ambassadors on digital content creation best practices and brand guidelines
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in digital content creation, social media management, and video production, preferably in a higher education or nonprofit environment
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator) and other relevant software tools
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and platforms
- Excellent project management abilities, including multitasking, prioritization, and meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of SEO principles, web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), and social media management platforms (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social)
- Creative thinker with a keen eye for visual storytelling and brand consistency
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Passion for education and a commitment to promoting Mercy University's mission and values
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field
- Master's degree preferred

The Mercy University Retirement Plan is comprised of two components:
Deferred Compensation Plan
All eligible employees may contribute to the Deferred Compensation Plan on a pre-tax basis upon joining the University.
Defined Contribution Plan
Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy University and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary. If an employee is under age 36, they will receive a contribution of 3.3% of their annual salary each pay period. If an employee is age 36 or older, they will receive a contribution of 9% of their annual salary each pay period.
If employed full-time for two (2) or more consecutive years by another institution(s) of higher education (college or university), without an intervening break in service within the last twelve (12) months prior to employment before joining Mercy, please submit a waiting period waiver form to Office of Human Resources. The Defined Contribution will begin as of the first day of the month following receipt of the completed waiver form.
